Black elderflower is perhaps one of the most widely used herbs in the world, and luckily for us it is also quite delicious. Elderberry is an amazing little fruit that offers great benefits as it strengthens the immune system and is a great source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. 

A 2019 study of elderflower for colds and flu suggests that the fruit significantly reduces upper respiratory symptoms. The study, published in the Journal of the American Academy of Internal Medicine (JAMA) and the International Society for Clinical Immunology, found that patients who took 900 mg elderflower extract capsules three times a day recovered faster and had fewer severe cold or flu symptoms than those who did not. Another study of 32 people with flu - like those who took lozenges containing 175 milligrams (mg) of elderflower extract.
